A8 have sent me these wonderful book reviews:-

Pippi in the South Seas by Astrid Lindgren

Pippi in the South Seas is a book that you would not want to put down.  The characters are Pippi, Tammy and Annika.  There is another book before this one called Pippi Longstocking.  Pippi is unusual and incredibly strong!

In this book Pippi gets a letter from her father who is a king of a far away island. Pippi was told that her father was going to come and take her on a holilday to Canny Canny island.  Her friends Tammy and Annika wanted to go too, so Pippi told their parents that they were invited too.  They took off to the island and stayed for days and days.

Will they be back in time for Christmas?  The story is so interesting, fast moving and keeps the reader interested by putting a bit of a story in each chapter.  It makes us want to keep going (read more).  The Author (Astrid Lindgren) uses really good vocabulary.

My favourite part of the book is Pippi herself.  Pippi is such an unusual and interesting girl, never scared of anything. She is very independent and such a fabulous character!  For example, when she flips her pancakes on the wall or ceiling.  When she saved Tommy from a shark she cried because the shark didn't have breakfast (Tommy's leg).  She is so bright, colourful and lively, there are so many ways I can describe her!

The book adds in quite a bit of humour and also quite emotional.   This book is suitable for children of all ages so I think you should read it too!

How to Live Forever by Colin Thompson

I would recommend this book for ages 7 - 12.

I like this book because it is about a boy who tries to find a hidden book.  Will the book be what he expected it to be?

The Last Clown by Colin Thompson

Recommended for Ages 8 and Up

Zippo was the oldest and last clown.  He was very lonely.  He taught the kids of other clowns.  Then Max, the tightrope walker broke his knee and so to make sure there would always be clowns at the circus, Max became a clown and so did his children.

Drawing Cartoons by Anna Milbourne

I recommend this book for art lovers.  Some words are a little tricky so make sure you're a confident reader.  This book will teach you all you need to know about drawing animals to race cars. So dig in to this wonderful book.

I recommend this book for ages 6-7 upwards.
